Do you want to elevate your morning wake and bake to new highs? Try infused milk in your morning coffee or tea. It’s super easy if you have any of the commercially available infusion machines.
My normal way ratio is an eigth of an ounce of a strong THC strain, decarbed, to half gallon of milk. I have gone as high as a quarter oz. to half gallon of whole milk. However, I found that made the infusion a little too “weedy” tasting, and negatively affected the outcome of the various products I have used infused milk to make. More on that later.
So, for this particular infusion I did today (sorry, I didn’t take any pictures), I used an eighth of Glaciers strain, from my local dispensary, that measured in at 25.49% THC, and a half gallon of whole milk. If you read my previous post about why infusions need fats for the THC to bind to, then you know why I use whole milk. The highest fat content for the THC to bind to.
For today’s infusion, I used my LEVO C infusion machine. That allowed me to decarb in the machine, and add the milk in and infused it for 10 hours. Literally, overnight. Or as I texted to the other two partners of this little endeavor “All night long”, prompting one to send me a gif of Lionel Richie in his “All Night Long” video. And if you were around in the 80’s, you’ll get the reference. *giggle*.
After I infused, I poured the infused milk into a pot, so that I could run it through a cheesecloth a couple of times. I do that, because I despise sediment at the bottom of my milk jug, and straining it through cheesecloth will remove almost all of any plant matter that has leaked into the infusion.
And that’s it. I then return it to its original jug, stick a couple of stickers on it, to show that it does contain cannabis. My kids are in careers where they cannot test positive. So, I always ALWAYS label my infused foods.
Now, what can you make with infused milk? Well, my friends, the list is endless. I have, in the past, made infused homemade mozzarella cheese. Want to talk about pizza night being lit? Or cream cheese? Let’s elevate the morning bagel and cream cheese. There will be future blog posts about some of the great things to make with “CannaMilk”
Stay Elevated my friends,
