Product Review: LĒVO C

This post has been a long time coming. I purchased the LĒVO C in January of 2023. It allows us to make much larger batches of oil, butter, milk and also allows us to decarb all in one convenient and mess free machine. To be transparent, I did have a LEVO II that, unfortunately, broke and I had to get rid of it.

So, right out of the box, the LĒVO C, you can instantly see how much this differs from the LĒVO I, LĒVO II and LĒVO Lux.

The capacity for the LEVO C is 4.25 cups of liquid, compared to the 16 oz capacity of the LĒVO II. It’s also a very elegant looking machine. There is almost an artistic aesthetic to it. Given the larger capacity, there is also a larger “jumbo pod”, the insert in which you place your “herbs”. The power pod, available on the I, II, and Lux models holds 1/4 oz of herb, while the jumbo pod holds up to a full oz of herb. We recommend that if you decide to get a LĒVO C, that you get the Herb Press to squeeze out every last possible drop of that beautiful infusion that you have created.

Decarbing or “activating: your special herb is a straight forward process. Put the herb into your pod, select “Activation Mode”, set it and forget it.

When you are ready to begin your infusion, add the base for your infusion, oil, butter, milk, honey…. LĒVO does not recommend using the LEVO C to infuse alcohol based infusions, such as tinctures. When I make tinctures, I use my HI®️Infusion Machine, as it is completely enclosed.

You can set your infusion to up to 10 hours of infusion time. Yes, 10 hours. The longer the infusion, the more those cannabinoids are going to bind to the fat in your infusion, and you are going to be left with a strong end result.

Now, in the interest of full transparency, I did recently have an issue with my LĒVO C, in that I could get it to go into activation mode, but was unable to get it to go into infusion mode. Immediately, I contacted LĒVO, and within a very short period of time, maybe an hour or so, I received a response, along with instructions on how to re-calibrate the machine. Sometimes, the basin does not sit right on the heat plate, and if appliances get moved around a lot —- unfortunately, my infusion machines do get moved around my kitchen quite a lot —- the LĒVO C will need to be recalibrated every once in a while. The instructions were easy to follow. I recalibrated my machine, and we were back in business.

Price: currently, as I write this, on November 16, 2023, the price for the LĒVO C is $249.00 on LĒVO’s website, and Amazon. If you are someone who likes to make a lot of infusions, or perhaps you live in a place where you can home-grow your cannabis, well, this machine is definitely for you. It’s well worth the cost. I have seen a few posts on subreddits and various other blogs that sometimes the decarb does not get up to the right temp, and your infusions are weaker because of it. I have not, personally, had that happen to me. But, I do have one of those “decarb boxes”, the silicone box, you can put in your oven and decarb your flower. And that is a great solution if you find that the machine does not heat up a much as you would like it to, or as much as you need it to. Why that happens, some people get great results and some don’t, I don’t know. I can surmise, guess or base it on conjecture that there may be environmental factors (elevation, ambient temperatures, etc) that are contributing to the problem. It may also be that the machine has to be recalibrated.

As there are a few things that could effect the calibration of this machine, I would wish that LĒVO would include the instructions for recalibration right in the paperwork/recipe book or even post it on their website. I have downloaded the email into my phone and my iPad so that I have it in the future.
