This might be my favorite part of CT legalization…

A year ago, March, when we entered “lockdown”, and the announcement of what constituted essential businesses and services were essential had some of us laughing. And in no way am I implying there was anything funny about Covid. But, to hear liquor stores and marijuana dispensaries were considered essential, there was a whole lot of people making jokes about day drinking, and being told by the government to stay home on 4/20/2020, and get stoned/drunk, was kinda funny.

CT. Legalization bill has created a new “what a time to be alive” folly. Cities and towns who have a population of 50,000 people or more are required to either create an open space where people can go to smoke cannabis, or basically, folks get to smoke walking down the street.

There is no opt-out clause like there is to have a recreational dispensary open in city limits.

So, CT. is basically going to have “pot parks”. An outdoor, open space, where people can gather and partake of the green herb. This is great. I can hardly wait to see what my city decides to do, opt for open space, or just allow folks to walk down the street, blazing a doob.
